WYTHEVILLE?Lane Enterprises Inc. today held a ground-breaking ceremony to officially recognize the construction of its new Progress Park facility to produce and distribute high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic drainage pipe. Work is currently underway on the company?s 25-acre industrial lot near the southern entrance of Progress Park. Lane operates 10 plants in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states, producing corrugated metal and plastic drainage pipe for the construction industry. Pipe from 6" to 144" in diameter is used in storm water management systems, for culverts, and for small bridge applications. ?The addition of our new facility in Wytheville represents an important strategic growth opportunity for Lane. The proximity to major highways, rail service, and a strong community made Wytheville the perfect location for Lane?s southern plastic pipe operations,? said company President Patrick Collings. ?We are pleased to soon have Lane Enterprises as the newest manufacturing facility operating in Progress Park,? said Wythe County Board of Supervisors? Chairman Wythe B. ?Bucky? Sharitz. Within the past year, Lane Enterprises became a 100% employee-owned company through its conversion to an ESOP structure.
